Please read these terms carefully before using the KennelCam service. By subscribing to KennelCam, you agree to be bound by these terms.
KennelCam operates via kennels.cam.
1. About KennelCam
KennelCam provides a managed live video streaming service that allows dog kennels and animal care businesses ("you", "the Operator") to offer secure, live camera access to pet owners during their animals' stays.
The service is delivered via a cloud gateway device connected to your existing CCTV infrastructure.
2. Eligibility
To use KennelCam, you must:
- Be a legitimate animal care business operating in the United Kingdom
- Have the authority to enter into a binding agreement on behalf of your business
- Have a suitable network infrastructure and compatible CCTV cameras (or be prepared to have these installed)
3. The Service
3.1 What is included
Your KennelCam subscription includes:
- A cloud gateway device (on loan for the duration of your subscription)
- Access to the secure streaming platform
- PIN-protected viewer links to share with pet owners
- Cloud storage as specified in your plan
- UK-based customer support
- Platform updates and maintenance
3.2 What is not included
- Camera hardware (unless separately purchased or installed)
- Network infrastructure or internet connectivity
- On-site installation (available separately via our installer network)
3.3 Service availability
We aim to maintain a high level of service availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible. We are not liable for outages caused by third-party infrastructure, your internet connection, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
4. Subscriptions and Payment
4.1 Pricing
Subscriptions are charged on a per-camera, per-month basis at the rate agreed at sign-up. Pricing is subject to change with 30 days' written notice.
4.2 Billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. Payment is due on the date specified in your order. We reserve the right to suspend access if payment is not received within 7 days of the due date.
4.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for unused portions of a billing period.
4.4 Free trial / proof of concept
Where a free trial period has been agreed, no payment is required during that period. At the end of the trial, a paid subscription must be confirmed to continue using the service. We reserve the right to withdraw the service at the end of any free trial period without obligation.
5. Your Responsibilities
As an Operator, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring your use of CCTV and live streaming complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including the ICO's guidance on CCTV surveillance
- Displaying appropriate CCTV signage on your premises
- Informing pet owners that cameras are in operation and that live access may be available to them
- Keeping your login credentials and any shared access links secure
- Ensuring only authorised individuals access your account
- Using the service only for lawful purposes
You must not use KennelCam to monitor areas where individuals have a reasonable expectation of privacy (for example, staff-only areas such as toilets or changing rooms).
6. The Gateway Device
The cloud gateway device remains the property of KennelCam at all times. You must:
- Keep the device in a safe, ventilated location
- Not modify, tamper with, or attempt to repair the device
- Return the device in good working order upon cancellation or termination of your subscription
- Notify us promptly if the device is lost, stolen or damaged
You will be charged the replacement cost of the device if it is lost, damaged beyond reasonable wear and tear, or not returned.
7. Intellectual Property
All software, branding, documentation and platform technology associated with KennelCam remains the intellectual property of KennelCam or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for its intended purpose during your subscription.
8. Confidentiality
Both parties agree to keep confidential any commercially sensitive information shared in the course of the relationship, including pricing, technical setup and business plans. This obligation does not apply to information that is already publicly available or required to be disclosed by law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law:
- KennelCam's total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the total fees paid by you in that period
- We are not liable for any indirect, consequential or economic losses, including loss of profits or loss of business
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these terms
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account with immediate effect if:
- You breach these terms and fail to remedy the breach within 7 days of written notice
- You use the service in a way that is unlawful or causes harm to others
- Payment remains outstanding for more than 14 days
On termination, you must return the gateway device and cease using all KennelCam materials.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any material changes. Continued use of the service after that notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
